Payments with Bitcoin
Bitcoin is an amazing new and safe digital currency, almost like virtual cash money. It's decentralized with no or very low fees. Not like Dollar, Euro, or Yen, Bitcoin is not issued and controlled by a government or institution, Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer community currency. Rather than going through a bank or financial institution, payments are exchanged directly from person to person. Bitcoin is the future of global e-commerce and we at DVD Brazil would not accept Bitcoin if we were not 100% sure about this new currency.
How to pay with Bitcoins at DVD Brazil?
Just add the items you would like to buy into the shopping cart and proceed with checkout. After you fill all your data (name, shipping address, shipping method), the payment page will be displayed with a link to pay with Bitcoin.
Where can I get Bitcoins?
First of all you need a wallet for your Bitcoins. There are two options for a Bitcoin wallet:
- Online Wallet
You can use an online wallet such as MyWallet or Flexcoin. With this option you don't have to install anything, but you have to take great care not to lose your password and you need to trust the site operator to keep your wallet safe.
- Bitcoin Client
If you prefer to have your Bitcoins locally on your computer, you have to install a software on your PC. The Original Bitcoin Client can be downloaded at Bitcoin.org. The software will automatically create a wallet for you and start downloading the transaction history after you start it the first time.
Once you have a wallet, the second step will be to get some Bitcoins into your wallet through one of several currency exchanges, such as Coinbase (using your US bank account), Bitcoin.de (pay sellers directly with a SEPA transfer), Mt. Gox, Bitstamp, BTC-e, Virtex (CA) and Bitcoin can be purchased even with cash money at BitInstant.com, or by arranging to meet a local seller using LocalBitcoins.
